Start a balcony kitchen garden
Five easy plants, the right potting mix and a weekly routine.
A sunny balcony with 4 to 6 hours of light can grow a surprising amount of food.
Start with curry leaf, tulsi, tomato, chilli and greens. Use a mix of garden soil, coco peat and vermicompost in equal parts, and pots with drainage holes. Water in the morning, feed compost once a month, and spray neem oil at the first sign of pests.
